Inspired by concerns about AI’s potential threat, filmmaker Daniel Freed sets out to prevent a human-machine conflict, using AI to build his defense. Through a hybrid-documentary approach, we follow Freed’s interactions with the Google chatbot formerly known as “Bard” (now called Gemini), here portrayed at its own request as a furry blue Muppet-like creature. With Bard always ready with helpful suggestions to build and finance Freed’s anti-AI army, such as baking and selling ‘We Will Not Be Replaced’ cakes, the film invites viewers to ponder the evolving relationship between humanity and technology.
