REVIVAL69: THE CONCERT THAT ROCKED THE WORLD

WONDERLANDS | BAY AREA PREMIERE

Director RON CHAPMAN (Canada, France 2022) 97 min

Everyone knows about the renowned Woodstock music festival in August of 1969, but what about that other one a month later in Toronto? Come look behind the scenes at the so-called “second most important event in Rock & Roll history,” for which a struggling young Canadian concert promoter went for broke and gathered some of the era’s greatest musicians including Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, The Doors, and Alice Cooper. Logistical chaos and poor ticket sales almost derailed the festivities, but things turned around with the last-minute arrival of rock god John Lennon for his first performance with the Plastic Ono Band — triggering his final decision to leave The Beatles forever. Exclusive conversations with the musicians who were on the scene, as well as more than 60 minutes of rare archival footage, make Revival69 an essential, rocking remembrance of this historic event.
